CC Resolution 8022RESOLUTION N0. gp22
A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING USE OF FOOD PACKAGING
MANUFACTURED WITHOUT CFCs
WHEREAS, available scientific evidence indicates a strong probability
that the family of substances known as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) when

environment; and
WHEREAS, one source of CFCs currently being released into the
atmosphere is the use of these substances as blowing agents in the
manufacture of some polystyrene foam packaging products used in the food
services industry; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell supports the
reduction of CFC processed food packaging products purchased within the
City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Campbell supports source
reduction as the highest priority in diverting the amount of solid waste
that must be landfilled.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell:
1. Encourages the use of food containers that are returnable and/or
reusable wherever possible.
