BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
COMMENDING GEOFFREY H. WHITTAKER FOR HIS YEARS OF
SERVICE WITH THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker has been employed by the City of
Campbell since August 9, 1965; and
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker is retiring from the Campbell Finance
Department on October 19, 1990, after more than twenty-five years of service to
the community; and
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker has been employed continuously since
August 9, 1965 as the City's first and only Finance Director; and
iIHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker has assisted the City Council, the City
of Campbell finance Committee, the City or Campbell Safety Committee, the City
of Campbell Computer Acquisition Committee, the City of Campbell Negotiation
Team, and the City of Campbell's Deferred Compensation Committee; and
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker has represented the City on the Board
of Directors of the Association of Bay Area Government's Risk and Insurance
Pool Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell's Annual Financial Report prepared under
the direction of Geoffrey H. Whittaker has received numerous awards recognizing
outstanding financial reporting from the Government Finance Officer's
Association and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officer's
Association; and
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker is an active member of the Government
Finance Officer's Association, the California Municipal Treasurer's Association
and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers; and
WHEREAS, Geoffrey H. Whittaker has performed his responsibilities with
a high degree of professionalism and skill;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council on behalf of the
City Employees and Campbell Citizens, wishes to express its appreciation to
Geoffrey H. Whittaker for his years of valuable service and wish him continued
good health and happiness in his retirement.

call vote:
