CC Resolution 8008FESOLUTION N0. 8008 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN WHEREAS, the City Manager is required by Section 2.12.030 of the Campbell Municipal Code to prepare and submit to the City Council his recommendations for the reorganization of offices, departments, and positions which he considers to be in the best interest of efficient, effective, and economical conduct of the municipal services provided by the City; and WHEREAS, a review has been conducted; WHEREAS, an amendment to the current Classification and Salary Plan is needed to meet the requirements of Municipal Code Section 2.12.030. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby approve the revised job specification for Park Maintenance Supervisor as presented in Exhibit A. Ashworth, Mayor ^T".'Y OF CAMPBELL PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR DEFINITION EXHIBIT A Under direction, manages the parks, public facilities ground maintenance and street landscaping programs; and does related work as required. TYPICAL DUTIES Manages the Park Maintenance section of the Maintenance Division; analyzes, organizes and prioritizes work of the section in collaboration with the Division Manager; plans, coordinates, schedules, assigns, evaluates and documents the work of section crews; assists in the selection and promotion of staff; supervises and trains staff in the Park Maintenance section; administers landscape maintenance contracts; evaluates and reports on the performance of section staff and outside contractors; monitors the condition of park and recreation facilities; prepares and administers section budget; investigates complaints from the public and recommends corrective action; serves as a resource for horticultural and pesticide control matters; prepares reports and maintains records; and performs other related duties as required. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. College level training in a related field is desirable. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in parks and tree maintenance, including at least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of parks/landscape maintenance management; methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in park and tree maintenance; planting and cultivation of trees, plants, and turf; pests and diseases and methods and materials for their control; principles and techniques of management and supervision; safe work practices. Ability to: Effectively manage park maintenance programs; plan, direct and supervise the activities of a parks, building landscape and tree maintenance program; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships including working with citizen committees as required, prepare reports and maintain records; read and interpret work plans and blueprints; communicate effectively orally and in writing. Possession of: Valid California Driver's License. Arborist Certification and Pesticide Advisor License desirable. Est. 6/79 Rev. 5/86 Rev. 9/90
