BEING A RESOLUTION APPROVING A RATE
INCREASE FOR TAXI SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Taxi Association has requested a rate
increase for taxi service in the City of Campbell; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that there have been increases in the
cost of living anD in costs associated with the operation of taxicab
businesses since the last rate increase in 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jose recently approved the requested rate
increases and other cities in Santa Clara County have been requested
to approve similar rates; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Taxi Association has given special
consideration to senior citizens by proposing a 108 discount in fares
to persons over 65 years of age not participating in any other
subsidized program; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the City of
Campbell to assure that taxi service continues to be available to
them;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby sets the
following rates for tax service in the City of Campbell effective
immediately:
Flag drop: $1.80 (to include first 1/9 mile)
Mileage Rate: $0.20 per 1/9 mile ($1.80 per mile)
Waiting Time: $0.30 per minute ($18.00 per hour)
Surcharge/Subsidized Service: No change to present rate
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th of June 1990.
