RESOLUTION OF THE CITY WUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL
AMENDING THE JOINT POMERS ACRFT BSTMEEN
THS COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA AND THB CITIES OF CAMPBELL, CUPERTINO,
MILPITAS, MOUNTAIN VZEfY, PALO ALTO, SAN JOSE, SANTA CLARA, AND
SUNNYVALE RELATING TO POTENTIAL STADIUM FACILITIHS ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the Giants baseball organization has submitted a proposal to
the City of Santa Clara for locating a baseball stadium in Santa Clara
County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Campbell entered into a Joint Powers Agreement
with the County of Santa Clara and the cities of Cupertino, Milpitas,
Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale to fund
$400,000 for consulting assistance to analyze a proposal for the creation
of a stadium in the south bay; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to the existing Joint Powers Agreement has been
proposed as attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Campbell approve the amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement with the
County of Santa Clara and the cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Milpitas,
Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of July 1990 by the following
roll call vote:

AMENDMENT TO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA AND
THE CITIES OF CAMPBELL, CUPERTINO, MILPITAS,
MOUNTAIN VIEW, PALO ALTO, SAN JOSE, SANTA CLARA,
AND SUNNYVALE RELATING TO POTENTIAL STADIUM
FACILITIES ANALYSIS
Paragraph 1, entitled "AGREEMENT" is hereby amended by the
insertion just before the last sentence of Paragraph 1 of the
following:
Further, the parties hereto, having obtained the further
consent to do so by their respective legislative bodies,
hereby join together fur the purpose of seeking and
recommending a stadium proposal agreeable to the joint
powers body, the City of Santa Clara, and the San Francisco
Giants. (The joint powers body recognizes that any
negotiations with the San Francisco Giants will be conducted
through the City of Santa Clara, who will lead all such
negotiations.) The joint powers body may prepare and
recommend any ballot measure and any other document
reasonable and necessary to effectuate any proposal
recommended by the body to its participants. Tu that end,
the joint powers body may retain such experts, attorneys,
consultants and others as it deems reasonable and necessary

to assist in framing, negotiating, and preparing such
proposals, ballot measure, and other documents for
recommendation to the parties hereto.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
Agreement as of the dates set forth below.
