RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL HONORING
RUSSELL J. "RUSTY" HAMMER
WHEREAS, Russell J. "Rusty" Harmer has been of service to the Campbell
community in various capacities since 1968; and
WHEREAS, Russell J. "Rusty" Hammer was instrumental in the formation of the
Campbell Youth Advisory Commission; and
WHEREAS, Russell J. "Rusty" Hamner was elected to the Canq~bell City Council
in March, 1972, and served on the Council until November, 1982; and
P7HEREAS, Russell J. "Rusty" Hamner became recognized as the youngest Mayor
in the Nation in March, 1975; and
Wf)EREA.S, Russell J. "Rusty" Hammer has been an active member of the Campbell
Chamber of Commerce and other local service organizations, as well as numerous
County and Bay Area Committees; and
WfIEF2EAS, Russell J. "Rusty" Hamrer received numerous honors and awards,
including Outstanding Young Men of California in 1975; Outstanding Young Men of
America in 1974 and 1976, Who's Wno in California in 1975; and Chamber of
Commerce Ambassador of the Year in 1972 and 1973.
NOW, TiiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell
commends Russell J. "Rusty" Hamrt[~r for his many years of service to the citizens
of Campbell, and wishes him success and happiness in his upcoming professional
transition and relocation to Florida.
